Sunni is a Profession Certified Coach (PCC) and active member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) while serving on the ICF LA local chapter Board of Directors. She also is an affiliate certified executive coach with Executive Coaching Connections (ECC) and she is certified in Conversational Intelligence®(C-IQ) – CreatingWe Institute. She received foundational coach training from Damian Goldvarg, Principal of The Goldvarg Consulting Group. Subsequently, she earned certifications in Team Advantage Coaching® – Pyramid Resource Group; Emotional Intelligence 2.0 and Anger Management assessment – Anderson & Anderson; as well as Conflict Resolution – Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center. As a Center for Creative Leadership Coach (CCL), she is certified in Leadership management 360 and Paradigm Personality Labs Workplace Big 5 Assessment. After her training in Individual and Group Coaching SuperVision, Sunni received the European Supervision Quality Award and looks forward to approval of her application certification in Supervision by the EMCC in the near future.
The intersection of several disciplines has allowed Sunni to develop expertise that is a value-added asset in almost all coaching contexts. She brings solid professional experience in public policy, business affairs, media, cultural competency, organizational development, leadership, and law. Sunni has been an executive coach, consultant, and master trainer for fortune 500 and national entities like IBM; the Center for Disease Control (CDC); Kaiser Permanente & the Kaiser Healthcare Foundation. Her background further includes positions such as Executive Director for the National Conference for Community & Justice; Deputy Director for Women & Minority Business Development for the City of Los Angeles; Media Director for the Washington, DC-based think-tank, The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities; and Staff Attorney and Appellate Litigator with the Washington, DC Institute for Public Representation. Earlier in her career, she was awarded CORO Foundation Fellowship after working for the legal divisions of NBC Network in New York, and the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization (INTELSAT).
As CEO of Cassava Coaching & Consulting, Sunni is an organizational strategist and thought partner. In addition to adjunct teaching in higher education, she is credited for successfully facilitating mission/vision alignment, leadership sustainability, and employee engagement. Her brand of transformational executive coaching includes expertise in organizational imperatives such as leadership development for executives and teams; systemic change management; diversity; workplace culture ascension, including a focus on bias, equity, and inclusion principles. She places a high emphasis on establishing relationships and resources that work together in innovative ways to embrace change and create permanent, positive, paradigm shifts. Her client base is both diverse and international. She educates and works with individuals, groups, and organizations from Vietnam to China, Africa, and Canada. Sound management and coaching principles allow Sunni to facilitate, fuel, and focus her client’s visions into actionable accomplishments. Sunni holds an MS in Rehabilitation and Counseling – Virginia Commonwealth University; a JD with an ABA certification in Communications Law – the Catholic University of America; and an LLM in Public Policy Law –Georgetown University Law Center.
